If you’re looking for some freaky and fun sounds to take the edge off your Saturday night then we’ve got you covered.
All month long we’re hanging out with American artist Nikki Nair who makes his return to the triple j airwaves for the first time since 2023, as he looks towards his Australian tour run.
Known for embracing chaos and leaning into the leftfield, he’s released a stack of EPs on cult labels including Gobstopper, Banoffee Pies, and Scuffed, plus he's made some majoy moves on collabs with the likes of Hudson Mohawke, DJ ADHD and Breaka.
Nikki’s Snake EP landed on LUCKYME® last year and pays homage to his roots in the DIY and punk scenes, channelling furious breakbeats and deconstructed basslines. Check out ‘333333’ from the record here:
Each week he’ll be spinning a themed set, dipping into new and forthcoming releases from himself as well as deep cuts from his personal library. This week he’s providing a ‘Mix for taking a bath with an active toaster next to the bathtub’ and we can’t wait to get into it.
You can expect a mixed bag of sounds as Nikki moves through glittery melodies, euphoric electronica, psych-pop, groovy house and the occasional thumping bassline. Scrubbadubdub!
