- request access to copies of documents we hold (except for exempt documents),
- ask for personal information to be changed or annotated if it is incomplete, out of date, incorrect, or misleading, or
- seek a review of a decision to not allow access to a document, to defer access to a document, or to not amend or annotate personal information.
- be in writing,
- state that it is an application for the purposes of the FOI Act,
- provide sufficient information about the document(s) as is reasonably necessary for us to identify and locate the document(s), and
- provide an address for notices (email or post)
- take reasonable steps to help you make a valid request,
- acknowledge a valid request within 14 days of receipt,
- give an estimate of processing charges that apply, if applicable, and
- provide a decision within 30 days unless processing time has been extended.
- If a document contains information about a third party and we need to consult them, an automatic 30 day extension applies.
- We may seek your agreement to extend time by up to 30 days.
- refuse access to all or part of a document,
- defer access to a document,
- impose a charge, or
- refuse to change or annotate personal information that is claimed to be incomplete, incorrect, out of date, or misleading.
