The ABC has earned the public’s trust for the better part of a century, and we will not be compromising it under any circumstances.

The education resource we officially launch tonight -  Journeys of Hope - provides a valuable tool for students and teachers in learning about the heroic survivors of the Holocaust who settled in Australia, invariably as refugees.

My comments today centre on the vital importance of trustworthy news coverage about international affairs and the necessity that it be sustained and vigorously promoted. It has a simple theme: The truth matters.
