• If your device is more than four years old
• If it has limited processing power
• If it was made by a less common manufacturer
• If you have location services turned off
• Only people in Australia can use Dance Mode, so if you are hiding your location in the Facebook app, the effect will automatically be blocked.

• Check ‘location services’ is turned on in Facebook’s settings
• Close the Facebook app and reopen
• Check your Facebook app is fully updated
• Try copying the direct link to the effect into your device's browser and hit ‘send me a notification’ then open Facebook to try again
