- Queensland is coming out of almost a decade of sustained drought
- Balonne, Murweh, Western Downs, Maranoa, Quilpie, North Burnett, and part of the Flinders shire have had their drought status revoked
- The total area of the state that remains drought declared has fallen from 61.1 per cent to 44.9 per cent
"We've had a significant weather event underway at the moment and that could further impact conditions and future drought declarations in the future,"he said.
"In our case we've had 40 mils here in the last couple of days, and we had between 50 and 100mm at Anzac Day. That'll certainly give us enough feed now to get through the year,"he said.
"Our focus is now firmly on drought preparedness, and there is a range of grants and low interest loans available through [Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority] to facilitate that,"he said.
