  • Coriander*
  • Poppies*

  • Pests — birds, rodents may eat the seed.
  • Too hot/cold — 13-21C is optimum
  • Soil too wet/dry — it should be moist, not soggy
  • Old seeds (check the use-by date)
  • Seed buried too deep — this is a more common problem than being too shallow so err on the side of less cover
  • Some seeds need special treatment — especially Australian natives that need to go through fire, flood or smoke to germinate.
