- A potter whose workshop was destroyed on New Year's Eve is donating the remnants to the National Museum of Australia
- Daniel Lafferty and Phillipe Ravenel, a blacksmith, were both heavily impacted by fires in Cobargo
- Mr Lafferty managed to save his house, but Mr Ravenel, whose forges survived the blaze, was not so lucky
"I did gather some things, because I knew there would be some interest in what came out of the burnt studio."
"This pottery is really a way in to tell that story, as a representation of an arts community that's really strong down here on the coast."
"Steel starts to burn before it melts, at about 1,300 degrees, so it would have been around that temperature inside the house."
"I managed to find a couple of golden blobs, which we believe are our wedding rings."
"Working with nature, it puts those sorts of things in perspective."
