- The Jaguar SUV had crashed off a major arterial on the Sunshine Coast and witnesses came to help
- Police say one of the rescuers left his Mazda CX-5 running as he rushed to help, which was then stolen by the male driver from the crashed car
"We saw a lady running down the embankment so we started running and realised that there was a white Jaguar SUV that had hit a tree head-on in an 80 [kmh] zone with no brakes."
"The gentleman, probably in his 50s, just looked at me and said, 'He's got my car, he's got my car. My car's gone."
