"People are now feeling a little bit more insecure about their braids and their experiences with braids, and you definitely get treated differently with the different kind of hairstyles that you have,"she said.
"With a lot of students, especially private school students, I've come to experience that they get a little bit of a backlash when they go to school,"she said.
