- Harjit Singh told Uber and ACT Policing he was attacked by passengers while working in Canberra on November 11
- Police say they are investigating the incident
- Mr Singh says Uber's response was "terrible" after he was left without work for almost one week
"[Then] I moved the car to a safe place and put a report into Uber and went to Belconnen Police Station,"Mr Singh said.
"[The passengers] abused me, hit me and broke my car, then Uber stopped my account."
"I have two kids and my wife is not working,"Mr Singh said.
"But in terms of an Uber driver, the downside [to being an independent contractor] would be that they are not protected by the minimum entitlement, minimum pay, leave, and other benefits — even if they are just working for Uber and not doing any other work."
