"I wish in that moment I had had clarity to say, 'Someone needs his brain. We need to see what's in it, what's going on, and actually analyse it and help other people.'"
"People are taking the piss who think shooting a rocket off your shoulder isn't going to produce some kind of brain injury,"he said.
"There's something about the blast wave injury that causes these two parts of the brain to slide against each other and cause scarring,"she said.
"I realised we were hurting our soldiers,"he said.
"The sad truth is that Australia is far behind … with little research or action being taken on this critical issue,"he said.
