  • As of 10pm Queensland time, Tropical Cyclone Alfred is a category two system.
  • It has sustained winds of 95 kilometres per hour near the centre, with gusts of up to 130 kilometres per hour.
  • It is 480 kilometres east of the Gold Coast, in the Tasman Sea.
  • The latest projections from the BoM suggest it will make landfall in Brisbane's northern suburbs late on Thursday evening or very early Friday morning. But the effects will start being felt well before then.
  • Preparations are underway, with officials warning thousands of properties are at risk of inundation.

  • Relocating your trampolines. Move them to a fully sheltered area like a garage.
  • Removing shade covers and tent walls immediately.
  • If moving it is not possible, partially dismantle the trampoline by removing the net poles from the joiners to reduce wind resistance and minimise stress on the frame. This simple step can significantly lower the risk of the trampoline being lifted by strong winds.
