  • Google’s Deep Research is part of Gemini Advanced chatbot. After you enter your question, it creates a research plan for approval and then analyses information from across the web. It generates a report of its findings with links to the original sources. Users say it stand out in finding a wide range of sources, as you would expect.
  • OpenAI also launched an agent called Deep Research, which autonomously carries out web research and report writing. Academics and consultants have been astonished by its capabilities, saying it rivals human researchers and saves many hours.  Its currently only available in the expensive ChatGPT Pro tier but will be made more widely available.  A journalist shared a ChatGPT Deep Research report on a complex US legal topic to illustrate its capabilities and risk.
  • Microsoft has a Think Deeper feature which is now available in the free version of Copilot.  Think Deeper has better reasoning capability than standard Copilot and replies with a more comprehensive response.
  • Perplexity also released a Deep Research agent.  They say their Deep Research autonomously conducts dozens of searches, reads hundreds of sources, and synthesizes findings into a structured report in 2-4 minutes.  Its free for limited use, with Pro users getting more usage.
  • X.ai’s brand new Grok 3 AI model has a feature called DeepSearch, which reads and analyses websites and generates a report with citations.

  • 51% of all AI answers to questions about the news were judged to have significant issues of some form.
  • 19% of AI answers which cited BBC content introduced factual errors – incorrect factual statements, numbers and dates.
  • 13% of the quotes sourced from BBC articles were either altered from the original source or not present in the article cited.

  • "Virtually Parkinson" podcast:  Uses a digital replica of the late British chat-show host Sir Michael Parkinson to conduct unscripted interviews with real life celebrities. Parkinson’s’ youngest son is a producers.
  • Shell Game podcast: The AI voice clone of host Evan Ratliff interviews a range of guests to explore the boundaries and impact of personal AI agents. Won wide praise.
  • Pager Protocol podcast:  10-part fictional espionage series published hours after real world events – showcases rapidly content production with AI tools.
  • Daily Listen: AI-host driven personalized daily news podcast from Google.
  • Spotify 2024 Wrapped podcast: Two AI hosts delivered a personalised deep dive podcast into each  user’s year of listening data
  • AI I Love You: a Nordic docu-drama where couples facing the premature death of a partner train a digital avatar to represent the partner after death. They are helped by a technologist and psychologist. After the death, the series follows the surviving partner’s engagement with the avatar
