- 7 x 500L Recycled Plastic Pots (600m H x 1200 diameter)
- 21 x polystyrene boxes
- Geotextile fabric
- 2m3(approx) organic soil and compost blend (two-thirds garden soil, one-third compost or 2m3 potting mix
- Painters tape (optional – for stencilling and painting of pots)
- Prime n Paint Spray paint (optional – for stencilling and painting of pots)
- 1.Undertake optional stencilling and painting of pots using painters tap and spray paint and allow to dry for at least 4 hours. (Ensure this is a supervised activity in a well-ventilated area and appropriate PPE is worn.)
- 2.Locate pots in approximate position
- 3.Use polystyrene boxes to create “false floor” in the base of the pots, up to about 1/3rd to ½ of the height of the pots. (Polystyrene can be broken to fill gaps if required.)
- 4.Cover polystyrene “floor” with geotextile fabric to prevent soil loss and allow drainage

- 10mm – 15mm spur-point drill bit

- Saucepan lids, tiles or saucers to cover top of worm farm
- Handful of worms, mushroom compost and some vegie scraps
- 1.Using drill and appropriate bit, drill multiple holes through pipe. (When drilling, be sure to set power drill to lowest setting to avoid melting pipe)
- 2.In prepared garden bed, install pipe vertically, ensuring top of pipe is level or just above top of bed. (Pipe internals should be relatively free of soil at install.)
- 3.Backfill soil around pipe, taking care to keep pipe upright and free of soil
- 4.Install mushroom compost, worms and apply vegie scraps
- 5.Install cover, and remember to feed and water regularly

- 1. Mark out and cut three 20cm x 8cm “planting spaces” into the top of the pipe using the jigsaw
- 2. Hand plane or sandpaper off any rough edges of the planting spaces
- 3. Place pipe against wall and markout drill guides for attachment of c-brackets
- 4. Ensure one end is slightly longer than the other to ensure drainage
- 5. Using appropriate drill bit and screws, attach pipe to wall using c-brackets, secured top and bottom
- 6. Drill a couple of small holes into one of the PVC pipe caps
- 7. Attach pipe caps, ensuring cap with holes is at the “low” end of the pipe
- 8. Fill pipes with potting mix and plant
- 9. Team used Strawberry varieties and Alyssum
