- Hold the plant by the cotyledons rather than the stem to avoid damaging the plant.
- Make a hole deep and wide enough using a dibber or your finger and place the plant in the hole.
- With some plants (like tomatoes) you can plant them deeper into soil as the stems will form roots.
- When the plants are around 15 - 20 centimetres high they can be planted out into the garden or into a larger pot.
