- Rolls close Monday 5 February 2024
- Nominations close at noon on Tuesday 13 February with ballot draw on 14 February
- Applications for postal votes close Monday 4 March
- Two weeks of early in person voting starts Monday 4 March though the period may be shorter in rural and remote locations
- Polling day is Saturday 16 March
- Closing date for the return of postal votes is Tuesday 26 March
- The dates shown above also apply for the Inala and Ipswich West by-elections with two exceptions. Nominations and application for postal votes began one day later on 30 January. The draw for by-election ballot positions will take place on 13 February.
- A first preference is required for a formal vote with further preferences optional.
- You need to number as many squares as there are seats to be filled. The number of preferences that need to be completed for a formal vote will be printed on the ballot paper. The number varies from council to council.
- You must number all squares on the ballot paper with a valid sequence of preferences.
